Here it is... Enjoy!
BUELL MUSTER 08
Excitement, trepidation, apprehension. Feelings, having brewed for the last few months are now coming to the boil. I look at the clock… 12pm, if I’m not out of here by 1400 then I am messing a lot of people around. 1330, work is done, look at the boss. She pauses, grins and nods… I’m OUTTA there!
http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o422/CHAOSHUMOUR/First%20Run/Muster/Away.jpg
Rage and Manx ready to go.
Race home, load the Bolt, grab the Manx and we are off to the first meet up. If the feeling I get when I pull into the car park is anything to go off, this is going to be one of the most amazing experiences of my life. There in the car park is an image of bestial beauty; a yellow XB12R(Marty), Black/Amber Lightning(Pikey), Black/Amber Bolt(LeatherPants) and that 1 of a kind Red/White mutant(Jodie). Helmets on the mirrors, eyes shouting eagerness and impatience. Introductions are made, and we are off! The growl of 5 Buells and the scream of an Omrae piped 250rr(Manx) turns every head in the car-park:Astonished:. What an exit!:grin2:
So we skip ahead past the peak hour and get onto the open road. You have your normal ‘caged’ morons who don’t know how to check their blind spots, but a quick flick of the throttle and they are a speck in the rear-view mirror. We stop at Coomera and realise our first dilemma, the person who KNEW where we were going (TazXB12r) is not with us…. No problemo, grab a UBD and we are on track. Take a few intro pics and back in the saddle.

Skip Nerang and you find the 6 of us heading into the scenic country along Nerang-Murwullimbah Rd (Natural Bridge). A storm is brewing ahead of us, we know it hammered down in NSW, but we are determined to get to our destination before dark. Besides, dinner is from 6-7 pm NSW time. The scenery was amazing! We took it easy through the tight twistys due to wet roads, but all around us is this lush green vista of mountains and valleys, low flying clouds skidding through the trees. A small sign pointing right to Tyalgum, and we know we are nearly there.
I know for myself I was struck dumb, and I think the others would agree, what a sight. Steam rising off the road and surrounding a mass of people and BUELLS!
We pull in to a cheer and park among this Pride of bikes. Some faces are easily recognisable, Narty, AussieXBox, Doug, Penny, but there are so many that are yet to be met. That small sliver of apprehension disappears as the atmosphere and closeness of a unique, small niche group seeps in. It feels like coming home.

Destination: Tyalgum Hotel, behind Murwullimbah in the hinterlands. This is where the true story begins. Everyone has a welcome drink at hand, and people drift from group to group, meeting and greeting, the whole time eyes shine as they stare at the array of wonderful machines that fill the road and veranda. Buell Muster 08 is happening. Dinner is awesome. The portions are huge, delicious, and prices are more than reasonable. With a full belly, everyone relaxes and enjoys a few (responsible!) drinks. The conversations are loud and varied, a multitude of topics, and stories of peoples adventures enroute to Muster(including a large slab of laughs from the antics at LT’s the night before), yet they all drift back to one theme… BUELLS. Here is a group of people so passionate about their rides, and the lifestyle they lead with their bikes, that they never stop grinning. There are old faces and new, friendships renewed and friendships made. The atmosphere is electrifying.

So these are those Buell bikes?
As the night progresses, people drift upstairs onto the veranda. One of our chief organisers 08NRS (Doug) makes announcements on how the weekend will progress, awards and trophies to be won, and most important, the ride that we will all partake in tomorrow.
Cheers all round and then we have probably one of the weirdest meeting ceremonies EVER.
A special thanks to Manx. A challenge was placed at her feet, all over a smart-alec comment.
The challenge: To bake 300 cookies for Muster 08. And she did it in style. Not only were the cookies baked (we could only transport 200 on the bikes), but every cookie was signed. Each person that we knew was coming had a cookie with their name on it. It was a shock that made everyone grin as they were introduced and a cookie handed over with their name on it. For those who we didn’t know were coming, they were not to be left out! The other cookies had an array of icings, from Buell, to XBR,ULY, UGLY, The Pegasus Logo. Everyone was welcomed!
(On a side note: As the person who handed out most of the cookies, the most memorable was BlackX1 on the Saturday. This man is a pioneer amongst Buellers. On the Saturday night, I shook his hand and offered him a cookie. He smiled and accepted, as he had heard about the cookies. His jaw dropped, and a tear came to his eye as he realised that the cookie he held had his name on it in Blue icing… It is moments like these that make Buell Muster 08 unforgettable).

Saturday.
Everyone wakes to a sheet of fog, the street is eerily silent and ghostly predators sleep, waiting to come to life and own the roads. A huge hearty breakfast of Bacon, sausages, eggs, toast, hash browns and tea/coffee (my only gripe all weekend was that the cups were not large enough to accommodate my tea fetish – as I am sure some will attest too), and everyone starts to suit up.
As the fog burns away from the tarmac, people drift out to their bikes. In the morning sun it is a glistening miasma of colours and shapes. But all these bikes share Erik’s eye for uniqueness and dangerous, eye catching curves. What a mix. The Ulys standing tall, their riders largely in Dirt helmets. The Lightning’s shine naked, a mix of leather sliders and Draggin Jeans (and Lazza’s armoured denims)sitting astride. The Bolt’s sunken eyes gleaming with malice from within their unique fairing. The old feller’s… The tubers that started it all, Erik's dream. A group of bikes so individual, and possessing a character that their younger brethren will never match. 2 X gleaming blue HD's, Stu's Chixx... I mean Gixxer, Manx's brooding Honda 250RR and Dave's Moto Morini (wasn't this the odd kid out!). Ride time, 8 am (NSW time) rolls up... and 8am rolls by. Where are Taz and Iron Chef on the Brutale? Both these boys live on the Gold Coast, Tyalgum is just a blat down the road. Our questions are answered when Taz rocks up at 8:45, “I'm early! OH... Daylight saving time... OOPS!” Needless to say we can now guess what happened to IC. Its time...

Back of the pack!
It was almost like the calm before the storm. The last of the fog burns away, there is a general murmur and the the first V-Twin fires to life! It was amazing! Like a roll of thunder, close to 30 Buells fire and erupt into life... GOOD MORNING TYALGUM! Words cannot describe this moment, it was so powerful that is passed beyond the realm of hearing, and became pure, gut wrenching vibration. Then the Gixxer fires up, the high pitched howl of Stu's aftermarket pipe (this thing was deafening) followed shortly by the scream of the 250, throatiness mixed with that high pitched 250 sound. The largest ride of Buells (that we know of) is now official! Bikes slowly cross the road and form up in two line, Buells at the front, others to the rear (for the photos). But of course Stu has to steal the show, and the fog that had left is now replaced by thick smoke as he lights up the back tyre. Unbeknownst ti him, Manx has just pulled in behind him and gets covered in rubber... And she didn't kick him off his bike. Now that is constraint!
We gave Doug a good 10 minute headstart, as he and RAPSM were to be the photographers. Times up. We roll out and soon it is full throttle. Now I have ridden with a lot of different people, but from the first moment I knew this would be an awesome ride. There was no pressure, no competitiveness, no one up manship. Those that wanted a scoot, raced off in front, the main pack followed, and the guys cruising stayed to the back, everyone rode to their own ability or pleasure, and it was smooth. The Hinterlands has some of the most beautiful landscape in Australia. The road is relatively well surfaced with a good mix of sweeps and tight left/rights. So we ride out through Tyalgum Rd (picking up Iron Chef along the way... same excuse as Taz), taking a right onto Kyogle Rd, and Turning left just before Uki onto Smiths Creek Rd.
The roads are becoming more and more fun, people are finding their stride and comfort zones with their follow riders, the pack spreads and all are having fun. I grin as I ride and think of Bindy the night before, “I don't care if people want to race ahead, Im gonna cruise on BindyBeull beside MANX at the rear and we are gonna enjoy ourselves without you HOONS” (Didn't that tune change throughout the day!!!).
Turn right onto Tweed Valley Way (old Pacific Highway) and you enter bliss. This road that sweeps up the mountain. Hotmix so smooth that you feel they resurfaces just for us the week before. Here is this amazing tarmac, and NO CARS (except 1 4x4 cop on the way back... But he wasn't interested in us). This road is hardly used. Everyone opens up and sweeps full throttle (slowing for the mounted old camera at the top) and flies into Mooball...

Except not quite everyone makes it.
The best laid plans of Mice and Men... We stop and wonder where the ute and tailers are. We are looking for Phil's sexy orange vest. I get a call, it is Manx. “Where are you guys?”,
“Mooball, where are you?”
“The Caltex at Muwullimbah.”
CRAP!
“We will fuel and meet you guys here!”
Everyone is safe, good. So the corner markers had left, and when the tail end, ute and Phil rocked up to Tweed Valley Way, they turned left instead of right (I have promised to take Manx right up the range!). We know where everyone is, we saddle up and race back through to hook up with the guys at the servo.

BP Murwullimbah.
After everyone fuels up (wasn't that a mission!) and waves see ya to Reight (he was off to the Sunny Coast), we hit the road down Tweed Valley and turn into Dulgulgan Rd and Tomewin Rd. It deteriorates here a bit, but that is ok, because it is such a technical road of 25- 45km switchbacks, that you just want to cruise. We have left the cane fields and valleys, and now wind up through a rainforest landscape. The temperature drops, but through the treetops you can still see the sun shining though, dappling the road in shadow. This can be a dangerous road if not taken properly, but once again, no mishaps. We hit civilisation in Tallebudgera and crank it 5 minutes up the highway to the next fuel/meeting stop. No one really needed to fuel, but we crammed into the parking, spilling on to the roadside at Caltex Mudgeeraba. Truth be told, I think we annoyed the servo dude, I'm pretty sure he told us to bugger off at some point over the loud speaker.... I bought a drink buddy! If you ever see a drink in a bottle shaped like a hand grenade call Bomba. AVOID AT ALL COSTS! It was crud!
http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o422/CHAOSHUMOUR/First%20Run/Muster/Turnoff.jpg
Tallebudgera Connection Rd Turnoff.
Here is another example of how close and friendly the Buellers are. Bindy had an incident in the servo where she dropped her bike and broke her foot peg. Everyone chuckled with her(no malice) and within 5 minutes BindyBuell was on her wheels, pegs fixed and ready to go again! Just like that!
Toyrotor rocks up!!!!!
Yay. One of the newest members of Buellers Downunder, he was fretting that he would not get his bike in time. But in he rolls on a shiny black/red 09 Firebolt. Shake hands and off we go again. The pack is now complete, all present and accounted for. Time to head for LUNCH!
Up Springbrook Rd then Pine Creek Rd. This stretch is drier, but no less picturesque. It feels like you are climbing forever, yet the whole time you are grinning. A wide variety of switches ranging from 25 – 75km and the road was mixed. The worst part was 2 wooden bridges that you come upon really quickly in corners. You had to stay on your toes. I was behind Nartman for a lot of this, and it was good too watch him. The biggest thing he spoke of was the lack corners in the Alice and how he wasn't too keen on the right handers. Well that was fading really quick... he was getting down on the Ugly and taking each corner a bit harder. Right onto Nerang Murwullimbah Rd and god bless right hand sweepers. The signs “suggest” 45 – 85... Hell NO! This road is awesome! Long wide rights that you can see straight through, followed by a hard left. Good condition, and most importantly it is well marked. The lead pack flew out front. Played along with Phil for a bit and then hunger got the better of me. I'll give it to the Uglys... These boys can go hard for a big bike... I think he ended up just letting me past. Cut left on Clagiraba Rd and we wind our way into Canungra... PIES!
Those that know me, know that I am a HUGE advocate of the OUTPOST CAFE and their pies. Mmmm, Peppersteak Pie!
It was weird, normally on a Saturday at lunchtime, the outside of the cafe would be packed fairing to fairing with bikes, and they get a huge mix from Jappers, to Duc's to Beemers, to Hogs. But it was empty, it was as if they smelt a storm coming, the Lightning, the Cyclone, the primal force that is BUELL... and they ran.
So there we were, all pulled up outside one of my favourite places, and once again you just had to step back and admire.

All safe and account ... NO ............ Wheres our orange coated LP, ToyRotor and Scooter????
CRAP!
We were in a place with no reception, so just had to wait. Scooter rocks up. Now just because you live 3 states away does NOT mean you can get lost and end up in Butt F*** Idaho. Geez Scooter! But he tucks in to the awesome grub. Soon after Toyrotor and Leatherpants roll in, they missed the Clagiraba Rd and nearly ended up in some small town somewhere. The funny part was they couldn't decide who had led who astray, and could not decide who was more worried that the other was a Brokeback mountain psycho serial killer. Now THATS a tension release right there.

Toyrotor and LP finally get to eat.
http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o422/CHAOSHUMOUR/First%20Run/Muster/cops.jpg
Oh No... COPS!
More photos are taken, everyone pops their top button and relaxes. People head to fuel in twos and threes (only 2 bowsers). The funniest was Manx, she got a huge cheer from the gang... Scooter had just taken off with a throaty rumble, a guy on a Kwak came past and hit the throttle to show us all how awesome his exhaust was after Scooter. HE wasted his breath, Manx had just fired up the RR and screamed down the street. The Kwak was nothing but a whisper in the wind and everyone cheered. Head hung in shame, he trundled out into obscurity.
Everyone fuelled. It was time for the last leg. Beechmont Rd and Natural Bridge. Now Beechmont road is deceptive, I had ridden it on my own, but first time in a group. It was amazing. This road is full of 45 km left handers, and the cambre on the road is all over the shop, chewed out quite badly in some places. Yet it is still a really fun road and everyone blasted away on it. Doug, RAPSM, Taz and Taz's Bub had shot off up the highway to find the next photo spot. Some of us overshot Scooter as he corner marked, was a bad spot as we came around a right hander to see him there. But I think another part was (for me at least) I didn't know that we were turning off, so had been cruising through. Turns out there is a lookout up Beechmont OFF the main drag, that looks down on to the lakes. Beautiful.

The dam/lake.
We all pulled up, and wonder where about 6 of our crew were???
Now to hear it from Manx's mouth, the last corner marker had gone, and they shot past the last turn none the wiser. She was in lead and they continued on for about 5-10km before the road ended at the bottom of the hill in a culdesac. She said the funniest part was turning around and seeing that all the other guys had stopped at the top and were looking down at her. So they pull up and everyone has a chuckle. The others back up Manx's story, but still vow that they will not follow her down a lonely road again! The downhill slope of Beechmont is very tight, and many of the corners are badly rippled. You need to take it easy, but at the same timeyou can still throw your bike left to right in the switchbacks. And once again a 'caged' moron, puts bike riders lives in danger. This Dickhead in a white Honda civic or something comes flying in to the pack. First he tails Whippin' Arse. Those of us behind can see she is handling herself through the corners, but with this idiot behind her, she is having to hit them harder than is safe. He shoots past her on double white lines and now Doovee is in danger! Now full kudos to Doovee on this ride, having never ridden mountains before on her Harley (or any other bike) she has found her legs and cruising through the twisties nicely, but she now has this twat up her clacker.
Now NO biker likes having a car up close behind them, especially on the windy's that you don't know, but to be a new rider and be in this situation... It can be scary, and adds pressure. This is how accidents occur. LT shoots by 3 of us, flying ahead to catch this car and help his beloved wife. The rest of us dropped back to give him to manouver, but there was just no where for him to get around and act as a buffer behind Doovee. All we could do was watch and hope. LT pulled up beside the Moron at the stop sign onto Murwullimbah – Nerang Rd, and I think if the coward hadn't run the sign and taken off, LT would have had a serious 'fist talk' with the guy.
DOOVEE, you are a champion!
You handled that situation beautifully, not letting yourself get pushed past your comfort. You went down that mountain like a pro, and I(and I'm sure a lot of the other guys who watched that debacle would agree) was so proud of you!
http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o422/CHAOSHUMOUR/First%20Run/Muster/DooVee.jpg
Doovee on the new Harley.
Back onto Nerang Murwillumbah Road. The second last leg. Now we get to hit all those long wide sweepers in the opposite direction. I cannot say just how much I love this road. It is in great condition and just doesn't end. This is a road to get the knee down on (as I'm sure some of those BUELL hoons did!) It is also a very mixed road, we pass our prior turnoff and now the road enters the valleys that had been filled with low clouds the day before. So most will have never ridden this road before, and even the Brissy guys can enjoy it with dry roads and sunshine. It is a huge mix of mountains and windy valley road. Every type of corner is on this road. The only part of this road that I feel is not real safe is the downward slop from the border grid. The road narrows dramatically, almost single lane, all the corners are blind and it is VERY steep. I let my breath out once everyone was out of that section. If you manage to sneak a peek at the view on the way down however, it is breathtaking! Into the valley, take it nice and easy through Numinbah and we all pose as we trail past Doug, RAPSM and the Taz's for the final photo shoot.

Doovee and the second pack.
Now down to it. The group split dramatically here, I think some of the boys could hear the beer calling and wanted to partake. The lead group took off on this awesome road, we turn right at Chillingham, and the final stretch is ON!
Lazza shot past me, and DAMN THIS BOY CAN RIDE!
Lazza it was a pleasure to watch you hit those corners! The group had a nice spread and we all enjoyed the final blat into Tyalgum. And the winner was... Ron on his Ugly... LOL. Ron had peeled off earlier to see some friends and had got back earlier. He was enjoying a cold brew as we pulled in.
I think this last stretch was Bindy's highlight, at least she told us all about it over and over again during the night .
Having spent the whole day enjoying herself at her own pace, she suddenly finds herself at the head of the pack. The majorinty of Buellers were happy to just trundle the final leg (the day was starting to tell.. not that Buells are uncomfortable, but it was a HUGE day). Bindy proudly pulled in ahead of a mass of Buells, and everyone parked and uncurled from around the handlebars. Some stretched, some chatted, some B-lined for the bar(riding can give you a dry throat!), and all grinned and laughed! The back up ute enters to a cheer, and everyone is safe. Buell ride 08 had finished, with nay a hitch!

Everyone kicked back and relaxed, tales are told about exploits through the hinterlands. Corners that were bested, Overtaking antics, things we saw from behind, and congratulations were thrown around. I was stoked. Stu had been behind me on the Gixxer, and I found out that he had been filming. I have always wondered how I ride, and now I could finally see... Thanks STU!
Light fades, and with a drink in hand we have our awards ceremony.
http://buellersdownunder.com/showthread.php?t=2589
In order:
Doovee took best non BUELL US bike. Ian took best Ugly. TazXB12R takes best Bolt. AussieXB12SS best Lightning. Mick best tuber. Dave best non US on the Morini. LT takes best ratbike. Jodie best mutan... I mean Custom.
And Lazza best overall (which was judged by our hospitable publicans and Awarded by Black X1).
Best Buell Tat is AussieXBox and Best NonBuell Tat is Penny (I think that presentation won the day for her here. You marketed yourself well Penny!) But as for the award, it was an awesome TATTOO! (Who does your ink?).
Nart took longest distance travelled (shoe in), Simon took longest distance ridden (by about 1km or something) and RAPSM got longest pillion.
Buelling Bob topped the ceremony off with gifts from the UsofA. He and his lovely lass Julia were lucky to attend the 25th Anniversay Buell gathering. They brought back posters from Erik, stickers, badges and knee sliders (for Joe and Bindy). It was like Buell Xmas and Bueller Bob was the jolly, overalled St Nich. I think most important was Bob's news that Erik is aware of the way we advocate Buell in Australia and the passion that the riders have. He is both proud and honoured with the way we present his dreams to our country.
BBQ!
The food was awesome! Steak, suasages, onion, bread, 'slaw, salad. What a feed. Wassa and Sue definitely looked after us, and we were happy to get the feedback that we were the best bike group they had ever had through, and we were welcome back en masse anytime! (NOTE: And that was not a story either it is fact ....TA) It is always good to make an impression.
Partying ensued, tales continued and a good time was had by all. In fact that I think it continued till about 5 in the morning... Followed by the melodic orchestra of happy snoring from Nart, Hooli, Sprocket and gang.

Farewells... Nobody wanted this weekend to end, but people had a long way to travel and needed an early start. I think first off the ranks were Xbox and Lazza.

See ya Ron!
Followed by Ron, LT,Mick and Doovee (Nart was still in bed). Phil left the part a nice parting gift (look at the black rubber marks at the far end of the verandah... Sue was happy and honoured!... How often would you hear THAT about a burnout!). Jodie discovered a flat and once more the closeness of Buellers came to play as Crabman came to the rescue with his puncture kit!(Jodie is still running fine on the same tyre). The Brissy guys (this time including Doug, RAPSM and Li'l John) packed up and left about 10ish. The ride home was amazing, Natural Bridge in reverse. I would say that I enjoyed it MORE in reverse! 1 idiot in a ute on the Highway, that copped abuse from just about ALL of us. Pikey and Joesbuell peel off for the sunny coast, and Manx and I pull off with Dougie to drop some gear and have a cuppa.
Over the next few days we receive messages of everyone arriving home safe... except for AussieXBox who got a flat 150km from home!

(just waiting on Nart to hit the Alice, but he is on no rush). All are present and accounted for, and BUELL MUSTER 08 is finished and remembered as a truly awe inspiring event, with everyone looking forward to the surprises of Muster 09!
Buellers would like to thank:
Wassa and Sue @ Tyalgum Hotel for their hospitality and keeping us well fed with a roof over our heads. (If you want a fantastic place to stay while exploring the roads behind Murwullimbah, check out their website: http://www.tyalgumhotel.com/ mention that you heard about them from the Buellers and you are sure to get a smile and a laugh) Thanks guys and enjoy the honeymoon!
Outpost Cafe: Although we sprung it on you, you handled our numbers well. The food as always was awesome, the service prompt and the staff friendly! If you want a good lunch while cruising the Beechmont area, here are their details: 44 Christie St Canungra, QLD 4275 (07) 5543 5283. To the Servo Dude @ BP Murwullimbah. Mate you got us all through as quick as possible and despite being bombarded by a bucketload of amazing bikes, you had a laugh and a chat. You rock man!
An enormous thanks to the Manx: 300 cookies!!! Logistics are a nightmare, but everyone was most appreciative of the choc chip goodness(especially late at night... nothing like a cookie and Rum)! The personal touch was not lost on anyone and even the staff got to partake!
A huge thanks to Dave, Kenny and Penny: “The Backup Crew & Navigator” Thankfully your services were not needed, but it was a comfort knowing you were there in need. Hope you made a lot of new friends and hopefully we will see you guys next year (maybe on some Buells aye?)
http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o422/CHAOSHUMOUR/First%20Run/Muster/ResizeofDSC00263.jpg
The backup crew!
Many thanks to RAPSM: You not only helped Doug organise alot of the background stuff, you also shot excellent video footage of our day. Thanks Chica!
Buelling Bob and Julia: Glad you made the trip (never doubted that you wouldn't). Thankyou for the gifts and sharing of knowledge. Yourself and Greg are legends among Buells and their advocacy in Australia. Look forward to many a Muster to be shared!
Black X1: For presenting the best bike award and sharing a beer.
Lazza: Despite all adversity, you made it, renewed old old bonds and made new friendships. Look forward to organising Muster 09 with ya ol' fella!
Astro: Although you couldn't make it, you were instrumental in helping find the location and getting initial research and bookings made. Maybe we will get to see you again one day.
Iron Chef: The Brutale gleamed! For providing the original Saturday run, and helping Doug with modifying the run. Thanks for your knowledge and support in leading a leg. You are a true legend and help with the premise of discovering new roads and riding free! Check out IC's Motorcycle Paradise: http://motorcycleparadise.blogspot.com/ Hope we see you on a Buell again one day!
To the Vics and SA crew: Guys you had a long haul. Glad that all of you felt it was worth it and are looking forward to next year. Hopefully next year we can return the favour and give you guys a rest from the long miles!
ZzzScooterzzz: Mate thanks for the logo design, many of us wear it proud on our shirts, and soon all will wear as patches on their jackets. I hope you feel a flush of pride at Muster 09 when you see your design on us.
To our amazing design brother in Nu Zeuland: SpinFX, you are truly gifted and your help with decals, stickers and general support was greatly appreciated. I'm sure that all of us will do whatever we can to get you over here! I believe a bike has already been offered?!
Bueller: Mate it was a shame you had to bail at the last moment, but your support through organisation was fantastic, and look forward to meeting you next year. You have always been there for Buellers in need, and support us when we break. To the Buell community, buy local! Bueller will go above and beyond to help. Good prices and fast service: http://www.buellerparts.com.au/index.php
Mini GD: Mate you drink like a fish, but you remained responsible. We will look for your big bro @ Muster 09.
http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o422/CHAOSHUMOUR/First%20Run/Muster/ResizeofDSC00227.jpg
To the Organisers: Penny, AussieXBox, Pikey, TazXB12r, Captain Nartman. I think it is safe to say we put on a good show and made it a hard act to follow. Thanks guys for all the hard work and some great ideas. Bring on Muster 09!
And lastly, a HUGE thanks to 08NRS Doug: This would not have happened without you mate. You finalised everything, ensured numbers, organised trophies, shirts and patches. You handled just about all the back area and made sure that the entire weekend ran smoothly. You sacrificed some of your own riding pleasure to make sure that we would have memorable footage of our traipse through the Hinterland, and the pics are amazing!
You did the Buell Community proud and Im sure that EVERYONE who was at Buell Muster 08 will join me in dipping their helmet in respect... You should be proud mate!
Apologies: I know a lot could not make it due to commitments, or learning about Muster 08 late in the gameplay, But I would like to throw out some special apoligees for those who we all knew wanted to be there, but could not make it due to reasons beyond their control: Meli (the good news keeps coming), Torquemonster(Hope the bub comes smooth mate), Spawn (February Bananaman!), Bueller, SpinFX(It's just a strip of water!), GravelDick(It's just a strip of SAND!), Lyndsaymac(Damn the Man!). I know we will see all you guys next year!
A final note from the Author:
The only word I can use to describe Buell Muster 08 is “WOW”.
I have met and ridden with many riders, but the Buell community is so closely knit that it feels like family. I have never met a group of people who are so passionate and fanatical about their rides. A part of me wants to yell and tell everyone to buy a Buell. But this is a bike built for a special type of person. They know who they are when they first see or hear a Buell, and their souls are lost. You can meet a Bueller in the street and know that you share something in common. I don't think there is another group of bike enthusiasts who could truly claim this feeling.
Likewise, I think anyone would be hard pressed to find a group of riders who bonded and enjoyed each others company as much as the Buellers did @ Buell Muster 08. An amazing group of riders and people. Even those who were not on a Buell appreciated them, and I think just about all of them walked away vowing to one day sit astride that 1203cc Thunderstorm.
I hope those of you who read these words, gain an understanding and appreciation of the weekend we shared. I have said that words could not express the experience, but this was my humble attempt.
To those who could not attend or have contemplated buying a Buell, I also hope these words will help you in some way to join us in future, or to become a part of this amazing group of bike enthusiasts!
I walked away from this event a better rider and a more knowledgable person. I thank everyone for sharing it with me and though I may not see many of you for a year or maybe even 2. I consider all of you mates and friends and look forward to the next time I own the corners with you.
Looking back on it, 3 sayings stick out in my mind:
“There are no enemies here... Just friends we haven't met yet” - TazXB12r
“This is the best riding experience of my life... I want my Lightning!!” - Manx
“Still, Buell fans are usually fanatics. Heading to the airport on the back of a Buell, I'm beginning to understand.” -Kristina Dell: Time Magazine 09/10/2008. http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/0,9171,1848757,00.html
CHAOS OUT!:shades:
Take a few intro pics and back in the saddle.
http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o422/CHAOSHUMOUR/First%20Run/Muster/Properintros.jpg
Caltex Coomera

Its time...

The line up!
http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o422/CHAOSHUMOUR/First%20Run/Muster/Lineup.jpg

We know where everyone is, we saddle up and race back through to hook up with the guys at the servo.
http://i342.photobucket.com/albums/o422/CHAOSHUMOUR/First%20Run/Muster/BP.jpg

Inside with Bindy and Doovee
