I was looking forward to taking this thing for a ride, it read well and was prices well too.

The engine is a gem, great low down grunt that is very linear right through to 8 - 9k.

The suspension is shit, the front end was flighty and the back end didn't know if it wanted to corner or stand up. Maybe this could be tuned out of it but the over all package was a bit under whelming.

Wind blast on the naked version is huge, 200 see's you laying on the tank trying to hide behind the guages with little chance of dodging anything. The wind blast comes on hard about 120+.

Bar are very upright and could be dropped 2" and still be comfy.

Seat is hard and managed to blow a gonad mid corner half way through the ride which was a little distracting at 140.

Guages are clear and easy to read, digital speedo and analogue tacho work well together, the inclusion of a fuel guage is also handy, but there was no gear indicator that I could see.

I quiet like the look of them but after riding one would not even contemplate putting one in my shed even if I had the spare cash, unfortunately the CB1000R and the GSX1400 but shit all over this unit as it stands.

Rumour has it suzuki will be bringing out a naked GSXR1000 next year punters have it labled the GS1000R, this will need to have a much higher benchmark than the bandit or the CB to attract any degree of interest.

Rating out of ten..........5

It's the price tag n the proven everyday commute formula with that bitta grunt for play time that gets em in, like ya say Stu...play with the spingy bits a bit n get it a little betta n ya got bloody good hard ta beat value for moolu.
My mate just rode a brand spanka away with wunna them hard top boxes for 10k...yes I said ride away.
Hard ta beat on a budget for a new bike.

Agreed chaps.

Thats why Suzuki are the biggest selling brand in ENZED - its a lot of bike fer yer lolly....same goes fer their dirt bikes too...hard to beat the value for money really.

I've had a few Suzook's in my time - TE50, '88 GSXR750J, DR350, '96 GSXR750 and the last one I owned was a '97 TL1000.

All bullet proof and never missed a beat.

Mate of mine just bought a 1250 Bandit, loves it. Does what he wants, powerslides at will, carts his missus and puts a grin on his dial.

....mind you, up until then, he was still riding his 20yr old GS1100G.

It had as much grunt as my gixer until about 7k, but alas that is where the gixer starts to get interesting and the bandit platues out.

Bang for the buck it is bloody hard to beat.

Josh took a GSXR750K9 at the same time...............he is trying to figure out how to buy one now, very nice.

Gixxer Sen-fitty's are pretty hard to beat, for an all-round sportsbike. Not too intimidating in the power stakes and a sweet steering chassis.

......his 600 will feel like a nail, now. :hehe:

thats what he said, it handles like the 600 with half as much grunt again, I keep telling him to jump on the 1k and take it for a squirt but he wont do it, he reckons because it wont handle as good as the 600 it wont be as much fun........................ it's ok fun.

I'm with Josh, the Sen-fitty is a better balanced bike than the Thou.
