I have just bought a 2000 M2 Cyclone and have a problem with a white thick liquid which looks like oil/water mixture spewing out the crankcase breather running up into my tailfin and leaking all over the back wheel , it only does it when you give it a big fistful when its hot any ideas anyone, oh and ive just had the mainseal and all the gaskets and o rings and everything replaced in the motor.

mmm... A little bit of oil seems to be normal, have seen it on a couple of M2s, including mine, but I had similar but more oil everywhere on another motor(not Harley) and was told that the rings were worn so the pressure was building up in the bottom end and forcing oil out the breather. Check compression? Check oil is still looking ok. Any-one else got any ideas?

Yeah seems feasible as it only blows it out when you accelerate hard not when your cruising so could be it ,its a lot of fluid though .

Hiya Mark, a mate of mine has an M2, and he has re-routed his breathers so they drop out near the front of the engine. Every time he stops it drops a puddle on the ground. (Thick white fluid, about the size of a 50cent piece) He says this is normal, and has a lot to do with your oil level; if its too high it throws more out.

Hope it is that simple, a compression test would tell you if your rings are knackered.

Good Luck !!!

Yeah thanks its back in the shop at the moment ive been thinking of rerouting the breather hose myself but i think mine could be rings as it drops probably 3 or 4 times that much ,hopefully the mechanic where it came from will be smart enough to sus it but i might ring him tommorow and suggest that to him and get them to do a compression test. Thanks very much guys.

I think one or two guys on here have fitted a vessel to catch any excess from the breather. Mine never gave me any issues but I am familiar with it happening on some.

There are some trick looking things out there to catch the stuff.
